Disgrifiadau
This material supports the work of the West Wales Veterans Archive National Service project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. This is a narrative account of the service career of Mr Stephen Walters of Goginan, Ceredigion, who joined the Royal Air Force in 1964. Stephen trained as an Airframe Technician and served both at home and overseas in a busy five-year engagement. He offers a fascinating insight into what life was like for British servicemen during the final year of British rule in Aden. He refers to servicemen who were conscripted into service and went on to become regular airmen. The account relies heavily upon an interview with Stephen by an Age Cymru Dyfed Veterans Officer in July 2025. Recordings of the interview can be viewed online in Stephen's full collection at the West Wales Veterans Archive on the People’s Collection Wales website. *** Viewer discretion. The interview and narrative contain descriptions of fatal incidents. Some viewers may find the content upsetting.
