This is a photograph from a page of the ship's journal of HMS Battleaxe. The page has an illustrative hand drawn map, which shows where the ship travelled throughout the 1959 to 1960 deployments to the Mediterranean and Atlantic oceans. The journal is in the possession of Mr John "Bob" Roberts RN retired, who was Petty Officer TAS during the whole deployment. Interviews recorded with John, as well as photographs and related material, can be viewed online in the John Roberts collection at the West Wales Veterans Archive on the Peoples collection Wales website.
