This is a copy of a photograph which was retained by British Army Veteran Dennis Pikes. Dennis served with the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry in the Korean war during 1951 and is pictured with two fellow soldiers in this photograph of 3 x D company soldiers. It is believed these photographs were taken around 1951 at KLSI positions at San Wai. Dennis has at some point annotated the images in blue ink. Pictured in the photograph with Dennis is best friend John Norton MM. Lance Corporal John Norton, 1st Battalion, King’s Shropshire Light Infantry, a 19 year-old National Service soldier who was decorated for his exceptional gallantry on 4 October 1951.
