This document has been produced to aid the viewer of the first film that records an interview with British Army Veteran Derrick Clarke. Derrick was called up to complete National Service in 1958 and he elected to serve as an infantry soldier with the Royal Warwickshire regiment. Derrick completed the majority of his service overseas, in the then British protectorate of Aden (Yemen). The remaining two films covering the interview and other material relating to Derrick's service can be viewed online in the Derrick Clarke collection at the People's Collection Wales website in the west Wales Veterans archive.
