This series of images shows my myself and my family. My mother who has always been the support in the home and my father who has always been the foundation and provider of our small family. My father is the strongest man I have ever known and someone I have looked up to my whole life – as an ex-soldier who served with the First Battalion Welsh Guards, my father, for me, embodies the concept of ‘People of Wales’ as a Welshman who has fought and served his country. As part of the Creative Industries Practical Project, the Foundation Degree in Photography students at Coleg Y Cymoedd will be contributing towards the People's Collection Wales archive to help provide a better understanding of People in 21st Century Wales. The aim is to get students to recognise their legacy within Photography in Wales but also to show what the People of Wales within the 21st Century epitomise.
