The first page invites the member of the congregation to nominate candidates to the council vacancies and to attend the meeting, and lists the agenda.
The second page lists the officers, council members and committees, as well as their attendance over the previous year.
The third page begins the summary of the minutes, which included a repealing of current Laws and adoption of new ones in the Synagogue, reports from the Chairman, Rabbi, Warden and Treasurer, reports relating to other committees and organisations within and without the Synagogue, and the elections of key council positions.
The fourth page contains a detailed report of the Chairman and Rabbi, the fifth of the Wardens and Treasurer, and the sixth of the Chevrah Kadisha, Guild, Social Issues Committee and RSGB.
The seventh page is a copy of the Synagogue accounts, focusing on assets and revenue, while the eighth page contains details of the expenditure and fees.
The Cardiff Reform Synagogue was founded in 1948 as the Cardiff New Synagogue. The following year, it became a constituent member of the Movement for Reform Judaism. Born in reaction against the more restrictive traditions of the Orthodox Judaism of Cardiff Hebrew Congregation, such as the prohibition of driving on the Sabbath and the ban on interfaith marriages, the new Synagogue appealed to the immigrants who had fled the war-torn Europe, where the Reform movement was already well-established. The congregation worships in a converted Methodist Chapel on Moira Terrace they acquired in 1952.
