In 1925, Jennie Lloyd was born in Cilfynydd, South Wales, where her parents, Mr and Mrs Edwin J. Lloyd, had Bodwenallt Farm in Cilfynydd. Jennie grew up in Wales and when she was 18 went to stay with her aunt and uncle in Ohio. After she married Maldwyn ap Rhys in the 1960s the couple retired back to Wales. Retiring to Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan.
