Disgrifiad

Ffotograff priodas o Jean Hunt (Troedyrhiw) a William Thomas Lewis (Abercanaid) yn eglwys y Bedyddwyr Sant Ioan, Treodyrhiw 2 Ebrill 1955. Hefyd penblwydd Jean yn 20 oed.

Hefyd yn y llun mae Samuel James Hunt, y morwynion oedd Cynthia Lewis (ar y dde yn y llun) a Sylvia Hunt (chwaer Jean). Y dyn gorau oedd ewythr William, David Lewis. Buont yn briod am dros 60 mlynedd. Bu farw Jean yn 2016 a William yn 2019.

Nody gan Julie Powell, merch Jean a William: “For the wedding breakfast dads family (Idris Lewis, Sarah Lewis, Gethin Cottage, Abercanaid) killed a pig they had reared. I have been told that this sow was a nasty thing and they had to walk the pig from Abercanaid to the slaughter house in Caedraw in preparation for the wedding breakfast . Apparently the pig must have known where it was going to meet its demise and it sat down in the middle of the road in Caedraw and wouldn't move holding all the traffic up and causing a right spectacle. The pig was eventually dragged off the road and they managed to get it to the slaughter house. The ham apparently was beautiful and the guests said it was the best tasting ham they had ever eaten!”
