Session Two: Building on Owen’s Foundations: Creating Sustainable Communities
Building on the previous session, initiatives are traced to Owen. Neil McInroy, Scottish Government Adviser provides a brilliant case for Community Wealth Building from ‘Innovative International and UK perspectives’. (Slides available on request). Michael Brown, Open Newtown urged ownership and control of foundational resources to achieve a long-term sustainable, ecological economy and emphasised the role of co-operative finance. Julie James, MS, Welsh Government Climate Change Minister spoke to a whole series of levers across government to achieve a just transition and expressed a keen desire to engage civic society on a wide range of issues.
