Victorian / Edwardian Cardiff was a difficult existence in the back streets, especially for women. The book illustrates the times, the crimes and hardships of the back streets. It looks at the characters, the court appearances, the life and death of men, women and children mostly through hardship, violence or alcohol. It has an 'easy read' style, and is perhaps not suitable for children. It also lists the most troublesome of virago's ever to walk the Cardiff streets.
