Photograph of flight engineer David Alletson of Nottingham. He served in the Royal Air Force during World War Two and was on the flight with John Martin when they were shot down. Like John, he spent the rest of the war in a Prisoner of War camp in Germany. Before the war, he was an engineer and worked in the coal mining industry.
