A very heavy, 40 inch x 33 inch framed Illuminated Address, presented to Mr. John Williams by what was then, the Rhondda Urban District Council, to mark his promotion in 1908 from Inspector in the Upper Rhondda Valley to the Superintendent In Charge, Neath Division of the Glamorgan Constabulary.

Superintendent John Williams went on to later become Deputy Chief Constable of Glamorgan Constabulary.
