Disgrifiad

Bronmeirion, Aberangell
The first picture can be dated at 1923-4 as the recently opened trench to carry the new water main can still be seen. This row of terraced houses were built by a local mason, William Roberts, in 1898 on the site of much earlier dwellings.
Another view of Bronmeirion taken around 1920.The person standing in the foreground in Thomas Thomas (Tom Tom) an ex-policeman and a giant of a man, who, with his wife Catherine ran a flourishing grocery and general stores from one of the houses. The tin shed at the end which served as a warehouse still stands.

A view of the end house of Bronmeirion probably taken at the same time and a rather surprising choice for a postcard. The gentleman posing is Thomas Breese who had retired from farming Blaen Cwm Angell a few yeas earlier, and at this time was in the process of building himself a new home, Brynhyfryd, in Clipiau Draw.
