Disgrifiad

This image shows the plaque that was on the Methodist Church that was built on Cromwell Road to satisfy the spiritual needs of a burgeoning Newport population on the steelworks side of the river. The old church is no longer standing. It has been demolished to make way for flats. The land was donated by the John Lysaght company and Mr D Lysaght along with other noted people from Newport at the time. This plaque was donated by a member of the public to Lysaght Institute. It has been made possible to share this with thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
