For those people who haven't seen or heard them - this quartet is made up of guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, two trumpets, trombone and a sax (although the line-up has changed over the years). The music is compositions by various band members with an occasional cover given the quartet treatment. The musical styles include, swing, funk, reggae, ska, improvisation, a bit of klezmer-ish and African thrown into the mix. The band pre-dates Wonderbrass but over the years there has been a significant crossover in key members. From this picture it's hard to tell which band is playing outside the Wellington Hotel at Brecon Jazz Festival in the mid 1990's). This time it is the Heavies!
