A pre 1897 group of policemen, various ranks of the former Bute Docks Police.

Bute West Dock at Cardiff was authorised by Bute Docks Act of the 16th July 1830.

Bute Docks Company was constituted under Bute Docks (Transfer) Act 25th June 1886. By same act, Section 23, Cardiff Docks and Railways connected therewith were transferred from Marquis of Bute and others to this company as from 31st December 1886.

Under the Cardiff Railway Act of 6th August 1897, name of Company was changed to Cardiff Railway Company.
