A newspaper article by Martin Wade, which describes Harry Poloway's amazing career. Wade focuses on Poloway's bravery in volunteering for the RAF during the Second World War. Wade then mentions Poloway's relationship with the British Royals and that he eventually became the official toastmaster for most of the Royal Family. Lastly, he mentions Harry's family, including his wife who sadly passed away in 2008. Wade finishes with claiming that Poloway was a true ambassador for Cardiff and Newport.

Harry Poloway was born in Newport in 1915. He was a trained electrical engineer. He is best known as Newport’s legendary Jewish toastmaster.

Harry was known for his passionate work in fundraising for charities (he was a prominent member of the Newport's Rotarians club) and his immense support for the local Jewish communities. For his amazing work he received several honours such as an MBE in 2005. Harry died in 2016.
