Disgrifiad

Presented to Robert Hughes Esq.(Surveyor) my great grandfather in commemoration of the inauguration of the New Sewerage Works and Marine Lake and as a momento of the expiring local authority (the Rhyl Improvement Commissioners).
This was the local authority which administered the town and its development until the creation of the Urban District Council in 1894.
This photograph was taken at the time to mark the end of the Commissioners 'regime' which lasted for 42 years.
