My Grandad Richard Merion Hughes, know as Dick.
Head cornet player for the Band for approx 40 years.
He told me once had had complaints from the council for playing his cornet all hours!
I took him to a band competition once in the 90's years after him retiring, it was at the Sun Centre and was totally amazed everyone knew him, as they flocked around him, with good wishes!.
I had a tear in my eye when i heard them play.. he nodded to say.. this is what its all about... amazing day.x
Dick is the husband of Vera from the Tudor Cafe in a previous photo.
In his later years, Dick was the 'members check in man' for the Labour Club and Rhuddlan Legion, where you had to sign to get in.
A genuine lovely man.
