The date is probably c.1967 not long before the closure of the Penarth to Cadoxton line. at this time through services were discontinued and the line to Cadoxton worked as a shuttle service by a single unit diesel railcar as shown in the foreground. In the background a three car diesel multiple unit forms a connection from Penarth to Cardiff.
