According to Worrall's Directory for 1875 there was an American Bowling Saloon situated on New Road. Coincidentally the General Picton also used to have its own indoor bowling green. The General Picton pub has existed in Porthcawl since the 1840s. However, according to a map of 1846 it was originally in Williams Place - now Marine Terrace. When did the Picton move to the present building and was the bowling green already there?
