Achub Pâl Manaw, 1955
Disgrifiadau
Mae Susie Copus yn gallu dwyn i gof ei thad a Swyddogion Morowrol eraill yn achub aderyn Pâl Manaw yn St Ann's Head, yn ô l yn 1955.
Dyma ei hatgofion:
"I can also remember my dad and other Naval officers rescuing manx shearwaters up at Kete Farm, St Anne’s Head, again in 1955. There was a storm, and dozens of the birds were blown onshore above the cliffs, and got stranded. The officers collected as many as they could, put them into wicker laundry baskets (like racing pigeon baskets) and took them down to Anchor Bay on the way to Dale, letting them out at the water’s edge. There was a huge flurry of flapping and noise as the birds scrambled seawards from the shallows, skimmed over the water and took off.
Wonderful."
