Disgrifiad

The Davies family rand the Red Lion pub, Llanafan Fawr, from 1910 to 1991.
This picture belongs to Katie Davies and shows the Davies family in front of the pub and farmhouse in 1932. (L-R) Katie's grandfather Rhys Davies, grandmother Emily, aunt Rita and mother Dolly and (front row L-R) uncles Afan and Pugh.
Katie's grandmother Margaret Emily Davies (known as Emily) arrived at pub in around 1910 to work as a servant girl to the then landlady.
When Emily married Rhys Davies she took over the running of the pub and was succeeded by their daughter known as Dolly when Emily died at 83 in 1961.
After 30 years of running the pub Dolly retired in 1991 at the age of 81, and the family sold the pub.
